Cloud computing has developed greatly since being created in the 1960s by computer scientist, John McCarthy. It was predicted to become the next big trend in software and is now changing the way organisations store, manage and analyse their data.

This was due to the bandwidth of the internet, the cost of computing and companies’ dedication to Application Service Providers (ASP). With the advancements in technology, Salesforce.com released their Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform and soon ASP was unable to live up to the benefits of cloud solution providers.

Companies such as ManageEngine specialise in the management and protection of cloud and on-premises solutions, whether businesses are working solely in the cloud or in a hybrid environment.
