Prizm Viewer

Features

Prizm Viewer displays images your browser can’t. Comprehensive viewing features go beyond common display tools (zoom, rotate, pan), to add thumbnail navigation, poster printing, image export, and many others. With Prizm Viewer you can attach comments (annotations) to any file without changing the original. Extensive configuration options let you customize your toolbars, menus, initial display settings, etc.

Supported Image File Formats

View single and multi-page TIFF and PDF (with PDF edition), JPEG, GIF, CAD, HD Photo, CALS, PCX / DCX, JPEG 2000, IBM AFP, WSQ and others. Easily configure which types you open with Prizm Viewer.

Annotations

• Popular annotations include Text, Note, Highlight, Lines, Arrows, Rubber Stamps, Polygons, Ellipses, and others.
• A descriptive note can be included within each annotation, displayed when the mouse is placed over it.
• Annotations can be saved on your PC, or on the Web using the optional Prizm Annotation Server for document collaboration
• Annotations can be exported inside TIFF or PDF files, burned into images, or saved separately

Virtual Multi-page Documents

Web sites can share 'virtual documents' made from collections of individual images. These Image List Files can include different file types, yet are viewed just like multi-page images.

• Quickly view a group of related documents like one multi-page file
• Batch print collections of documents without having to view each document
• 'Save as' a local file – Export Image List Files as multi-page TIFF or PDF files, even when they contain other image types.

Advanced Viewing Tools

• Flying Magnifier lets you zoom a particular area of the image.
• Reference Window provides a “birds eye view' and can be dragged to position the image.

Advanced Navigation Tools

Use your mouse, keyboard, menus and controls to quickly move between images

• Thumbnail navigation – Use your mousewheel, or click on the thumbnail to jump to a page.
• The Table of Contents window can be used to quickly navigate through Image List Files and PDFs (PDF edition)
• Search for text anywhere in a searchable PDF file and click to view that page (PDF edition)

Licensing

There are 3 categories of licensing for Prizm Viewer:

• You are installing Prizm Viewer on individual client computers and the software code is executed on the client.
• You are installing Prizm Viewer on one or more servers and the software code is executed server side and not on clients. This includes running under Terminal Services or virtulisation software. Server deployment is per CPU (where each CPU can have up to 4 cores).
• You are deploying Prizm Viewer on a Web server for download and use by visiting clients, in this case please contact us to discuss your requirements.

You will also need a separate license if you are creating an Annotation Server that will centrally store annotations for one or more clients. Licensing of Prizm Annotation Server is priced per server processor (CPU), where each processor may have up to four cores.

Prizm Viewer Annotation Server

Enable document collaboration. Store all of your users’ annotations on your Web server, or directly in your DMS or ECM database. The Prizm Annotation Server download includes a fully-working sample that can also be used as a template for storing Prizm Viewer annotations within your Document Management System. The Prizm Annotation Server is separately licensed based on the number of users. Please contact us for more information on this product.

Prizm Viewer Annotations

The following annotation types are included:

• Text box – fully customisable sticky notes (font, size, color)
• Pop-up Note – space-saving note icon with text underneath
• Highlight – similar to yellow highlighter, but any color
• Lines and Arrows – draw attention to important info
• Rectangles and Ellipses – with adjustable color, line width, transparency, etc.
• Polygon and Polyline – any shape solid or line
• Rubber Stamp – including automatic date
• Freehand

Annotations support the following features:

• The same annotations can be used with all document types (i.e. TIFF, PDF, CAD, and JPEG).
• Annotations can be shared for document collaboration.
• May be saved locally, or over the Web (ask your Network Adminstrator about the optional Prizm Annotation Server)
• Annotations may be exported in native TIFF or PDF format, burned into the original image, saved to a separate local file, or saved to the Prizm Annotation Server.
• Support Unicode text (Asian, Arabic characters)
• Associated notes can be attached to all annotation types

Enhanced Image Display

• Anti-aliasing automatically improves bitonal image display
• Color smoothing evens out the “blockiness' that often occurs with highly-magnified or over-compressed color images
• Image display options include: Set Initial View Display, Set Initial Display rotation, Mirror horizontal and/or vertical, Preserve Lines when scaling, Invert colors, Color smoothing, Patented enhanced JPEG decoding, Brightness and Contrast Adjustments, Maintain scaling, position and orientation when paging

Printing Options

• Apply print options to bitonal, color, PDF, and CAD images independently
• Include or omit annotations in print
• Specify up to 3 lines of header and footer text to be printed. Macro support allows auto-insertion of print date, time, and other variables
• Specify poster printing options for large format images including shrink instructions, overlap settings, minimum size for poster printing, order of pages
• Permit auto-orient when different orientation saves paper on printed images

User-configured Preferences

Prizm Viewer can efficiently serve different departments with different viewing needs.

• Defaults can be set during installation, by live Web content, and at the user level
• Control file associations (which image types open with Prizm Viewer)
• Set annotation sources, annotation display, and more
• Configure default annotation settings - colors, fonts, border colors and widths, fill styles, stamp text, etc.
• Apply viewing preferences - full image, full width, inverted, rotated, etc. - for bitonal, color, PDF, and CAD images independently
• Set default mouse button action: Zoom selection, Hand pan, Flying magnifier, or annotation
• Set flying magnifier size and magnification factor
• Set availability of Docking Windows
• Customise all Toolbar buttons and locations
