New Features

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite x5, released February 23rd 2010, introduces a vast array of new features, including:

• New and enhanced drawing tools - amongst the new tools are the B-Spline tool to create smooth curves with fewer nodes, an Objects Coordinates docker which lets you specify the size and location of an object when you add it to the canvas, support for rounded corners for the Rectangle tool, an enhanced Mesh Fill tool and more
• Corel PowerTRACE - Updated version of PowerTRACE converts your bitmap images into vector objects with more precision and smoothness than ever before
• New colour management engine - A completely new colour management engine increases colour accuracy and supports the latest Pantone colour profiles
• New Web design tools - New tools make creation of Web graphics easier, for example the new 'Pixels' tool shows exactly how your content will display online and a new Web animation tools make it easier to create animated images
• Corel CONNECT - a new built-in, full screen content organiser that automatically searches for graphics, templates, fonts and images stored on our computer. Browse content by category or search for content using keywords
• New file format support - brings the total support for file formats to over 100. Supports the latest versions of Adobe products including Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat 9, and now with DOC and DOCX, text from all languages and formatting are better supported
• New content - includes over a 1000 professional fonts including new Helvetica and Frutiger font families along with clipart, royalty-free photos, photos, vector fills and more
• New learning materials - including new and updated video tutorials, engaging learning materials and new articles in the visually rich guidebook
• Interface updates - now you can lock toolbars in place and have an expanded array of printing options. A new 'Create a New Document/Image' dialog box provides a number of useful presets for quickly creating images
• Performance enhancements - support for Windows 7 (along with touch-screen compatibility) and enhanced support for multi-core processors gives you the best performance yet
